Amateur and professional developers, ready your Objective-C and Binary. Health 2.0 and sponsors including Roanoke Blacksburg Technology Council and Intel are hosting the Hokie Health Code-a-thon this Friday and Saturday to make the health industry more efficient and less costly through the innovative creations of development teams.
The top project will win $2,500, and the next five runner-ups will receive $500 each.
More than 75 health care enthused physicians, engineers, entrepreneurs, students and scientists are expected to participate, while tech-savvy speakers will lead discussions and present issues in the field of technology.
Each team will develop applications, tools and ideas that, in the past, have had a lasting impact in health IT and can be the basis for future development projects regarding health care and technological innovation.
